Can I cancel a flight with Thomas Cook?
Thomas Cook flights are 100% non-refundable. This applies to all cancellations including for medical reasons. If you need to cancel your flight booking you will be charged 100% of the booking cost. But don’t worry, you can still get a refund - by selling your flight to someone else. Thomas Cook allow name changes, which means that you can sell your flight to someone else and get your money back that way. SpareFare will help you find a buyer. Thomas Cook tax refund
You may request a refund of UK government air passenger duty (APD) from Thomas Cook for any flight you choose to cancel. Such a request must be received by Thomas Cook within 28 days of the cancellation being made by the airline and you must also pay £25/€29.00 administration fee per booking. This charge does not include the creation of an insurance letter.
How much does it cost to cancel my Thomas Cook holiday?
If you are flying with Thomas Cook Airlines as part of your holiday package (you’ve purchased flights & accommodation together from Thomas Cook), the cancellation charges depend on how long before your holiday you are cancelling.

Can I change my Thomas Cook booking?
Yes! However, please be advised once a booking has checked in online no changes can be made. Please find change fees below under “Flight and name change fees”. If there has been an increase between the original fare paid and the current fare available at the time the change is made, you will be required to pay this increase. No refund will be given if the current fare is lower. You cannot transfer your booking to a departure date more than 3 months after your original departure date without incurring cancellation charges.
Can I change the name on my Thomas Cook booking?
Yes! If you’re travelling with Thomas Cook, you can transfer your ticket to someone else. This means that you are able to get a refund for your flight by selling it to another person. The name change fees can be found below in our “Flight and name change fees” table.
Please note that on return flights, the names of passengers travelling on each sector must match. It is not possible to have different customer names on each sector. Please be advised if a name change is made online within 48 hours of booking being made this will be free of charge.
The names of passengers travelling on a booking can only be changed no later than 25 hours before your first departing flight. However, please be advised once a booking has checked in online, no change of names of passengers can be made. If the booked arrangements are more expensive at the time of the change of the names of passengers than when the booking was originally made, you must pay the price difference.
