Can I cancel my EasyJet flight?

Do you have an EasyJet flight you can no longer use? Life happens, plans change, trust us we know! You have a few different options if you can’t use your flight. Can I cancel my EasyJet flight within 24 hours of booking?

If you purchased your flight within 24 hours of the booking, you can cancel it. You will be provided a full refund minus an administrative charge. You will be charged £30 per booking for cancelling online, or £35 through the call centre. After the 24 hours have passed, EasyJet flights become non-refundable, however, you still have many options if more than 24 hours have passed since you purchased your flight.

*Cancelling due to illness or bereavement

In the unfortunate event that you are cancelling because of serious illness or family bereavement, please contact EasyJet’s customer service team as soon as you can. If the date of travel has passed and your flights were not used, EasyJet will need to see a scanned copy of the death certificate.

How do I cancel my EasyJet flight within 24 hours of booking?

Step 1: Visit the airline’s website and click on Manage Bookings at the top of the webpage

Step 2: Sign into your account

Step 3: Click the cancel button next to the flight you can no longer use

Step 4: Pay the cancelation fee of £30

How can I change my EasyJet booking?

If more than 24 hours have passed since you purchased the flight, you flight is non-refundable. However, you can change the date of your flight or even the destination. So, if you can’t fly now but still can use the flight in the future, this is a good option.

You will be charged a fee for the change. The fees are shown below and are per flight. This means that the fee will be double if you have a return flight and change both the inbound and the outbound flights. You will also have to pay the fare difference. This means that if the flight price has increased since you purchased the flight, you have to pay the flight difference in addition to the change fee. If the flight price has decreased, EasyJet won’t refund you the difference. Cheeky, right? It is always cheaper to change your flight online and as early as possible. If there are less than 60 days left to the flight, the fees are more, because it becomes harder for EasyJet to resell your original flight.

EasyJet name change policy

I cannot use my EasyJet flight and want a refund – what do I do?

EasyJet allow name changes. This means that you can change the name of the passenger on your ticket and you can sell your ticket to someone else. You might not be able to recover 100% of what you paid, but even getting back half of your money is better than losing everything! This is the only way to get a refund for your flight if more than 24 hours have passed since you purchased the ticket.

If you would like to transfer your booking to a different passenger, you can do so for a fee, but without paying any fare difference. This is cheaper to do further in advance and online. For name changes more than 60 days before travel you will be charged £25 per passenger, per flight when you change online, or £30 per passenger, per flight when you change through the call centre. For name changes 60 days or less before travel, you will be charged £50 per passenger, per flight when you change online, or £55 per passenger, per flight when you change through the call centre.
